Hide and Seek

Before you go on reading. I've got to say this is not an ordinary blog post. Not a review, not a product, not a trip or whatever. This is an assignment of mine based on TRUE STORY. i used back the same name, same story. Maybe i added and changed a little cause i was only four. I don't remember much do i? If you wish to continue reading my 1500k word story. i will not stop you. But please bear with my grammar or vocab mistakes, or whatever mistakes that you come along.
This is my second writing assignment (i have never written anything like that). I am beginning to like this unit. I spent more time on it rather than my main course units, maybe it's because it's not as stressful. So here it is..

It's call Hide and Seek.

Chapter I: The Journey
There were once two children, called Carol and Catherine who were seven and four years old. All their lives they had lived in a town, but because their father had a busy job as a doctor, he was never home, so they they loved it when holiday comes and they can visit their cousins and play with them.
“What fun would it be when we visit Colin and Christopher next week!” said Carol. “It’s been a year since we’ve seen them, i wonder how they’ve been!”
When the day came to visit their cousins, both of the girls were so excited. Their mother had packed everything for them for the weekend and their father got the car ready and pile everything into it. The children put on their coats and shoes and got into the car.
“Now we’re off!” cried Carol.
“Off we go!” sang Catherine.
So they started their journey, it was a three hour journey to their cousins place. The girls pressed their noses to the window and watched the houses pass by, the trees and the valleys race by. How excited they were, naming everything they see as they pass by.
At last they arrived at last at their cousins place and it was worth the drive. The two girls couldn’t wait to get out of the car so they can play with their cousins. Two exciting boys, Christopher and Colin stood at their front door waiting for their two cousins to arrive so they could play together.
“Run along and play together!” said their mother. “And Carol, take care of your little sister!” So off the four children went.
Chapter II: The Game
“What should we play?” asked Colin.
“What about a game of hide and seek?” said Carol, in delight. “We shall at least play something, and it’s fun!”
“I’m fine with anything.” said Christopher.
“Ok! I guess you both know how to play this game right? I’d be it! i’d count to ten and i’d start finding you!” said Carol.
“yea we do!” said Colin. And off he and Christopher went to hide.
“Go find a place to hide and don’t come out no matter how many times people call out your name. Here’s a bag of gummy bears. Go! Don’t follow me.” said Carol to Catherine, and off Catherine went to find a place to hide.
“Ten...Nine...Eight...Seven...Six...Five...Four...Three...Two...One...Ready or not, here i come!” yelled Carol as the game started.
Carol started looking in the kitchen, in the cupboard. She opens the kitchen cupboard door by door, but she found no one. Then, she went into the living room to search, under the couch, in the store room, but still no one was to be found.  Carol went upstairs to check.
“Found you!” said Carol as she tapped Colin who was hiding under the bed.
“I didn’t expect me to be the first for you to find!” said Colin, “but let’s go find the others.”
As Carol and Colin search the room, they found Christopher hiding in the cupboard in another room.
“Aw! That’s not fair, why couldn’t you find Catherine first?” said Christopher being unhappy that he wasn’t the last to be found.
“Come on,” said Colin “Let’s find Catherine.”
“Catherine! Catherine! Catherine! Come out, come out wherever you are!”
But Catherine was no where to be found, not a word, not sound from her. They thought she was going to jump out and scare them any moment, but there was nothing.
Chapter III: The Missing Girl
Carol, Colin and Christopher searched up and down for Catherine. They looked into every door, room, cupboard, cabinet, toilet, store room, even the garage and the car, but Catherine was still no where to be found. They were beginning to feel frustrated and tired, they started screaming.
“Catherine...Catherine...Catherine...!” but still no reply and she was no where to be found.
The three children screamed so much that their fathers and mothers begin to wonder what has happened. Carol, being the eldest told them that they were playing hide and seek but Catherine was no where to be found after so long.
Their father and mother was worried as Catherine was only four years old.
“Where could she be?” said father, sounding a little worried. Mother begin to search upstairs while Father search downstairs, but Catherine was still not found.
“Let’s check outside, maybe she went out to play?” said mother.
“Yes, Carol, Colin and Christopher. You stay in the house while we go outside to search for Catherine.” said father to the three children.
Father starting searching the garage, every cabinet and corner that is possible for Catherine to fit in. Then they started asking the neighbors, “Excuse me, but have you seen my little girl? Small, four year old. Black hair, fair skin with rosy cheeks. Wearing a pink dress and a ribbon on her ponytail.” said father, sounding really worried.
“No, i’m sorry. I haven’t seen her. “ said the neighbor, “but i’d have a look out. I can help you ask around the neighbors as well.”
“Thank you so much.” said father.
So off they went asking house by house and soon the whole street was searching for Catherine. Everyone started searching their houses, their cars, their garage, their outdoor gardens, but still, nothing was found.
Where could she be? Has she been kidnapped? What could have happened to her?
After an hour or two, they decided to make a police report. They felt like it was the only way and hope that the police might be able to find Catherine.
“Oh dear! Where could she be?” cried mother. “Oh Catherine, where are you?”
“I’m sorry my dear, we will find her. She couldn’t have gotten far.” Said father trying to stay strong to comfort mother. So father and mother went home to get ready.
Chapeter IV: Daddy finds Something
“Did you find her?” said Carol as her father and mother stepped into the house.
“No, i’m sorry honey, we did not.” said father softly.
Carol turned and sat on the sofa, tears running down her cheeks as she wonder what could have happened. “We shouldn’t have played that game!” said Carol as she started crying.
“No honey! It’s not your fault. Don’t blame yourself for it.” said mother as she hugged Carol. “Come on, let’s get ready. we’re going to ask help from the police to find Catherine. So don’t worry. okay?”
“Ok. I guess Mr. Policeman can help us find Catherine.” said Carol softly as she get up.
Father had to go to the toilet to take a dump before they go to the police station. “Daddy, do you want some sweets?” he heard his daughter. “No darling, not now! Run along” said father restlessly. “Ok!” she replied. Father turned to realized that it was his little Catherine, sitting next to the toilet bowl with a bag of gummy bears in her hand smiling towards him.
“Catherine! Why are you here?” asked father anxiously.
“We’re playing hide and seek daddy! Do you wanna play?” said Catherine not knowing what was going on outside.
“No! Why did you not come out? Why didn’t you reply when everyone called you?” asked the confused but relieved father.
“Because Carol told me not to come out no matter how many times my name has been called, it’s the rules daddy!” said Catherine.
“Oh dear!” said father as he sat there feeling relieved. Father got up and picked Catherine up and went downstairs. “Honey! I found her!” he yelled as he walked down the stairs. Everyone started jumping and running towards the living room where Catherine and her father was not believing their eyes that she was there sitting in the living room.
Chapter V: Everything is Alright
“Where was she? How did you find her?” asked their mother. Feeling so happy that she cried with joy, knowing that her little Catherine was now safe and back in her arms again.
“She was hiding next to the toilet bowl in the toilet upstairs!” said their father. “I wonder how we even missed that when we searched the toilet.”
“You missed me! You came in and searched the cabinet but you did not search the toilet bowl, so you didn’t see me!” said Catherine. Carol, Colin and Christopher hugged Catherine who seemed clueless. “Does that mean that i win?” said Catherine beamingly.
Everyone was glad that Catherine was lost and they were just a step away from making a police report. Wouldn’t it be funny if the police came to find Catherine sitting next to the toilet bowl? From that day onwards, the four children did not play hide and seek anymore as they were afraid little Catherine would find a better place to hide and now know when to come out. They had a great weekend with BBQ at night in the backyard, they invited their neighbors as well who helped the search for missing Catherine.  They went to the amusement park together with their cousin and by the end of their weekend, they had to go back home. They weren’t exciting to go home, but at least they had a story they could laugh about when they grow up. About how little Catherine went missing.
